But it's not just the fringe extremist wingnuts we need to worry about. The mainstreamers seem to be going over a similar cliff of late, now arguing that James von Brunn, the Obama-hating, Rush Limbaugh-loving, neo-Nazi accused gunman from Holocaust Museum assassination is lefty!!
A "lefty" - a Democrat, advocates for peace, environment, diplomacy, equal rights, (gay rights, civil rights, women's rights) homeless veterans, education, public services - all the things that build up a nation. If everyone is thriving, crime and unemployment go down. Everyone must be given the tax breaks that giant corporations get, or the tax breaks must trickle down. But they never have trickled down as the CEOs keep all the money at the top.

about the lack of support for Sarah Palin from any feminist group
when she is under constant attack from the media?
Do you think some feminist group
would have called for them to be fired,if say Rush or Hannity said
a similar thing about one of the Obama kids? Their silence is telling.

crusty, like the inbred idiot he is, conveniently ignores (1.) Caribou Barbie's insertion of her children into the spotlight REPEATEDLY, and (2.) the fact that her own lack of anything resembling knowledge of the world is what drew the media attention to her.
As a classic Narcissist, Caribou Barbie is happy with it, and does what she can to keep it going-even if that means subjecting her children to what amounts to media punishment. Inbred dolts like crusty, who do most of their thinking with their crotches, aren't aware of this, because badly-needed blood has been diverted from the few functional brain cells that they have.

OK here's the breakdown for the factually challenged:
1. Sarah Palin was in New York for a charity event.
2. Willow was the ONLY daughter with her in New York.
3. She attended a Yankees game with Willow that day.
4. A-rod plays for the Yankees.
5. Letterman makes a "joke" about A-rod knocking up her daughter during the seventh inning stretch.
So if A-rod was playing at that particular game, Willow would have been the ONLY one Letterman could have been referring to.
Unless you think A-rod can knock someone up from 3000 miles away.
In which case the Yankees need to give him a raise because he's a better man than they originally thought.
But hey, it really doesn't matter who you have to step on to defend your agenda eh Lyd?

I know one of Letterman's top writers very well. They write the jokes a day or more before the show is taped, so this was not intentional, though it was in bad taste no matter which woman/girl he was referring to. And I said so in my blog.
But I have NEVER heard Sarah Palin apologize for her self-serving evil in saying our U.S. President "pals around with terrorists," intentionally egging on/inciting the unstable, hateful, moronic, fascist fringe to do something horrible, which they are now doing in droves.
Even a woman in the audience was led to believe Obama was an "Arab" without a birth certificate - yet no one corrected her. John McCain didn't really put her fears to rest because it wasn't part of his political game plan.
McCain or SOME intelligent real republican should immediately PUT A STOP TO THIS UGLY HATE SPEAK FROM RIGHT WING RADIO NOW.
There isn't a single good person in the whole party?
How any human being can pretend to believe that such a dignified, high-minded, excellent, loving, enlightened man such as Barack Obama, a Harvard Constitutional scholar, editor of the Harvard Law Review, U.S. Senator, who worked his way up via the American Dream is not an American citizen or pals around with what she said -- ASTOUNDS ME AND MAKES ME ASHAMED.

Yes Mike,
In hindsight it should have been obvious to anyone that Letterman wasn't referring to the one daughter that was at the game that day and the only one A-rod would have had access to.
After reviewing the comment, especially the part about A-rod knocking her up during the seventh inning stretch, he obviously meant that Bristol had been flown in specifically for the event.
Sorry for the confusion. It's all so clear to me now.

And I'll accept the fact he is an American citizen, but I'd sure feel better about that if he'd actually show a REAL birth certificate and not the fake one he posted on his website.
As to rising to power via the "American Dream", I had no idea the "American Dream" was to become a community agitator, suck up to a hateful preacher for street cred & work your way up through the sewer of Chicago politics by dirty tricks, and exposing private information on your opponents taken from court sealed documents.
Gee, I've been doing it wrong all these years...

Interesting too that during the campaign he had no muslim background, and now he's over there making speeches to them about how proud he is of his muslim background...
Oh and if you do know one of Letterman's writers could you tell them to start writing funny stuff again?
I actually used to be a fan until about 10 years ago when he started being hateful and angry instead of funny.

Why, I wonder, do some of us have a conscience, and others do not?
I have been trolling the right wing blogosphere, and I am sickened by some of the things I've read about the murder of Dr. Tiller. I am also disgusted by the ease with which commenters talk about shooting people up; that kind of talk at home would have gotten me the back of my father's hand as a kid, and though I wouldn't bakchand one of my own kids for saying something like that, I would react strongly. There is nothing funny about shooting someone, or even talk of shooting someone.
Is there a disconnect in these people? Were they simply not taught any better? Is it some mental aberration? Why on Earth would someone actually want to shoot someone else? I could only imagine doing something like this to keep myself or my loved ones from being shot.
Why are so many hateful enough to WANT to shoot?

JR - I have no idea. This is the primitive force that I wrote about last week -- it's the same old ancient evil that keeps rearing its ugly head, and is most manifested in fundamentalism. This is the tribal, self-centered fear that sees everything in an "us versus them" rather than "we" are all ONE.
Our solution is to stop geting angry at these primitive people, who cannot rise above their own divisive hatred, and cannot see that the more you give, the more you receive. The more you help your fellow man, the more there is for everyone. When we elevate the whole human race and truly give from our hearts, we never want for anything.
Look at Mother Theresa, who took a vow of poverty. She was the richest (and one of the most famous) people in the world, and yet owned nothing.
But she had more love than anyone, love from everyone she met.
Fundamentalism is self-centered fear, the character defect in every alcoholic or drug addict.

Lets see the neo-cons wanted to attack Iraq in 1998, they said so in the PNAC crap they pushed.
So they helped the stupid bush STEAL and election in Florida 2000 (and Ohio 2004) and got their war in 2003 till now.
Now the main brain-dead neo-cons wanna attack Iran, and they needed Ahmadinejad to win this election to help facilitate that, so strange things are happening in that election which sorta mirror some of the stranger things from 2000 and 2004 here. Will they get their next neo-con war from a stolen election?

members of my family have gone to san fransisco to participate in the annual march for life there. you can tell them the lefties were not violent. they were physically attacked 2 years ago during the event and were pretty badly beaten.
